Windows 95/98 Dial-up Networking

Reinstalling Dial-up Adapter and/or TCP/IP

Note: Before you begin, Make sure you have your Windows 95 or 98 CD-ROM or diskettes available and ready for installation.
  1. Click the Start button point to Settings and choose Control Panel.



  2. Double-click the Network icon.



  3. Select the Configuration tab.
  4. To reinstall Dial-up Adapter select it and click Remove button.
  5. To reinstall TCP/IP select it and click Remove button.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Wait for for your computer to shutdown and restart.
  8. Repeat above sections 1, 2 and 3.
  9. To reinstall Dial-up Adapter follow the following sections. If you don't need to reinstall Dial-up Adapter skip to section 16.
  10. Click the Add button.
  11. Select Adapter.
  12. Click the Add button.



  13. From the Manufacturers: list, choose Microsoft.
  14. From the Network Adapters: list, choose Dial-up Adapter.



  15. Click the OK button.
  16. If you do not want to reinstall TCP/IP, skip to section 23.
  17. Click the Add button.
  18. Select Protocol.
  19. Click the Add button.



  20. From the Manufacturers: list, choose Microsoft.
  21. From the Network Protocols: list, choose TCP/IP.



  22. Click the OK button.
  23. Click the OK button again.
  24. Windows 95 will prompt you for your installation diskettes or CD.
  25. When you are told to restart, click the OK button.
  26. Wait for Windows 95 to restart.
