New Dial-Up Networking Connection Configuration
- Double-click
the My Computer icon.
- Double-click
the Dial-Up Networking folder.
- Double-click
the Make New Connection icon.
- Under
Type a name for the computer you are dialing, type activecom.net
- Click
the Configure button.

- Check
the appropriate speed for your modem
19200 for 14.4 modems
38400 for 28.8 or 33.6 modems
57600
for 56k modems
- Make
sure that Only connect at this speed is NOT checked.
- Click
the OK button.

- Click
the Next button.

- In
the Area code and Telephone number text boxes, type your local
activecom.net access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company
to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call. To get
a list of our local access numbers click
here.
- Click
the Next button.

- Click
the Finish button.

- Click
the activecom.net icon.
- From
the menu bar, click File and select Properties.
- Uncheck
Use area code and Dialing Properties option.
- If
you need to dial 10 digits in your area, add the area code in front of the
dial-up access number.
- Click
the Server Type button.

- For
Type of Dial-Up Server, select PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5,
Internet.
- Uncheck
Log on to network.
- Check
Enable software compression.
- Uncheck
Require encrypted password.
- Uncheck
NetBEUI.
- Uncheck
IPX/SPX Compatible.
- Check
TCP/IP.
- Click
the TCP/IP Settings button.

- Select
the Server assigned IP address button.
- Select
the Server assigned name server addresses button.
- Check
both Use IP header compression and Use default gateway on remote
network.
- Click
the OK button.

- Click
the OK button.

- Click
the OK button.

- Click
the OK button to close the window.
